Enhancing Research Quality, Department of Physics FMIPA Unhas Hosts Paper Review and Bibliometric Writing Workshop

MAKASSAR, PHYSICS.FMIPA.UNHAS.AC.ID – In a continuous effort to enhance research quality and accelerate the number of high-impact scientific publications at both national and international levels, the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Hasanuddin, successfully organized a workshop titled "Paper Review / Bibliometric Writing Training." The two-day academic event took place from Saturday to Sunday, June 6–7, 2026, held at the Department of Physics Lecture Hall, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar.

The training was officially opened by the leadership and faculty members of the Department of Physics FMIPA Unhas. The participants included final-year undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and young researchers who were highly enthusiastic about developing modern research methodology skills.

Under the main theme "Enhancing Your Research Quality," the workshop focused on mastering bibliometric analysis—a quantitative method used to analyze scientific literature data—as well as comprehensive techniques for writing high-impact review papers. Through this approach, researchers are expected to effectively map global research trends, identify critical research gaps, and draft scientific manuscripts ready for reputable international journals (Scopus/Web of Science).

Throughout the two-day intensive program, participants were provided with comprehensive theoretical insights followed by hands-on practical sessions (coaching clinic). The curriculum covered data mining techniques from major scientific databases, network visualization using specialized software (such as VOSviewer and Biblioshiny), and strategic tips for navigating the journal editorial and peer-review process.

The event concluded with a group photo session featuring the keynote speakers, faculty members, laboratory staff, and all participants. By organizing this workshop, the Department of Physics FMIPA Universitas Hasanuddin reaffirms its strong commitment to supporting Unhas's vision as a World-Class University through the empowerment of research capacity and impactful scientific publications
