Community Service in Soppeng Regency Strengthens Collaboration with Teachers and Community Leaders

Soppeng — A community service event was held in Soppeng Regency on July 17, 2026, at the Soppeng Regency Education Office Auditorium. The event was attended by a number of community leaders and teachers from various schools in Soppeng Regency.  This event was part of the university’s efforts to fulfill one of the pillars of the Tridharma of Higher Education, specifically community service. Through this event, it is hoped that academic knowledge and experience can directly benefit the community, particularly in supporting educational development and enhancing human resource capacity in the region. The presence of teachers was a crucial part of this event. As educators who interact directly with students, teachers play a strategic role in promoting the quality of learning while shaping the character of the younger generation. Meanwhile, the involvement of community leaders strengthens the collaborative aspect of the activity, as educational development is not solely the responsibility of schools but also requires broad community support.  The event, held in the Soppeng Regency Education Office Auditorium, also served as a forum for academics, educators, and community members to meet and exchange ideas. Various experiences and challenges faced within educational and community settings can be openly discussed to gain relevant perspectives and alternative solutions. Through this Community Service initiative, it is hoped that stronger ties will be forged between universities, local governments, schools, and the community. Such collaboration is essential to ensure that knowledge not only flourishes on campus but also reaches and has a tangible impact on the community.  This event in Soppeng Regency further underscores the importance of sustaining community service programs as platforms for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and community capacity-building to address various educational and social challenges in the region.
