FOSTERING A SENSE OF COMMUNITY IN A FAMILY-LIKE ATMOSPHERE, THE UNHAS DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY HOSTS A FAMILY GATHERING
The Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Hasanuddin University (Unhas) organized a family gathering as an opportunity to strengthen bonds and foster a sense of community within the department. The event, which took place at Villa Siguntu River Camp on Saturday evening, was attended by faculty members and support staff from the Unhas Department of Biology in a warm, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere.
The event began with a group dinner, which provided an opportunity for faculty and staff to interact outside the academic setting and their daily work routines. This moment was used to strengthen communication and build closer relationships among members of the Department of Biology. The sense of camaraderie grew as all participants enjoyed time together in a more informal and open atmosphere.
The family gathering then continued with various games involving faculty and staff. These games were designed to foster team spirit, cooperation, and communication, while creating a fun atmosphere. The active participation of all attendees made the event lively, filled with jokes and laughter that reflected the close-knit, family-like bonds within the Department of Biology.
Through this event, the family gathering served not only as a means of shared recreation but also as an opportunity to strengthen solidarity, communication, and a sense of togetherness among faculty and staff. It is hoped that the interactions that took place in this informal setting will support the creation of an increasingly harmonious and collaborative work environment.
The sense of togetherness fostered during this event plays a vital role in creating an academic environment that is not only focused on fulfilling duties and responsibilities but also provides space for the academic community to get to know one another, show mutual respect, and build close-knit relationships. With this spirit of togetherness, the Department of Biology at Unhas is expected to become even more united in carrying out its various educational, research, and community service initiatives.
This family gathering also served as an opportunity to strengthen the spirit of togetherness among the entire extended family of the Department of Biology at Unhas. Through harmonious relationships and effective communication, the synergy between faculty and staff can continue to be enhanced in support of the Department of Biology’s progress and the fulfillment of the three pillars of higher education.
