The Master’s Programme in Archaeology at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, is the only Master’s Programme in Archaeology outside the island of Java. The establishment of this programme was driven by the high demand for competent Master’s graduates in Archaeology to serve as Archaeological Experts and Cultural Heritage Experts, as mandated by Law No. 11 of 2010 on Cultural Heritage and Law No. 5 of 2017 on the Promotion of Culture. Furthermore, as an institution that has achieved “A” accreditation from BAN-PT, the Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Hasanuddin, boasts a team of competent academic staff.
Following a feasibility study that began in 2015, this study programme was deemed eligible for launch pursuant to BAN-PT Decision No. 42/SK/BAN-PT/MinAkred/M/II/2018 dated 20 February 2018.
