The establishment of the Master’s Program (S2) in Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University (FIB Unhas), is a manifestation of the academic paradigm shift that began with the faculty's transition from the Faculty of Letters to the Faculty of Cultural Sciences in 2006. This transition served as a philosophical milestone, strengthening Unhas’s mandate as a culture-based university dedicated to the scientific study of local cultural dynamics. In response to the growing need for comprehensive cultural policy and development studies, the formal initiation and design of this program commenced in 2018. The Master’s Program in Cultural Studies is strategically positioned to bridge the gap between the planning and analysis of cultural dynamics, with a steadfast commitment to contributing significantly to the advancement of society and the nation.
