The Mechanical Engineering Study Program (PSTM) was established on September 10, 1960. Its most recent accreditation rating was “A,” based on the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) No. 0931/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/III/2017. The Master’s Program in Mechanical Engineering (PSMTM) also received an accreditation rating of “A,” based on BAN-PT Decree No. 3885/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/M/X/2017. Meanwhile, the Doctoral Program in Mechanical Engineering (PSDTM) is currently undergoing the re-accreditation application process with BAN-PT.

The Mechanical Engineering Study Program (PSTM) currently has 28 academic staff members, including four professors, with expertise in three main fields: Energy Conversion, Machine Design and Construction, and Metallurgy. In addition, the modern campus in Gowa provides well-equipped laboratory facilities that support the implementation of the Laboratory-Based Education (LBE) system and technology development through the Center of Technology (CoT).

The Department of Mechanical Engineering manages four study programs, as follows:

  1. Bachelor’s Program in Mechanical Engineering (PSTM)

  2. Bachelor’s Program in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (PSTMM)

  3. Master’s Program in Mechanical Engineering (PSMTM)

  4. Doctoral Program in Mechanical Engineering (PSDTM)
