Final Examination Session for Master of Biology Students

Nurman, a Master of Biology student with Student ID H052192002, defended his thesis entitled "Macroinvertebrate Diversity as a Bioindicator of Water Quality in the Tangka River, Tombolopao District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi" on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 2:00 PM WITA in the Postgraduate Biology Seminar Room on the 2nd Floor.
Nurman's final examination was attended by Dr. Ambeng, M.Si. and Dr. Syahribulan, M.Si. as his supervisors, and Dr. Zohra Hasyim, M.Si.; Dr. Zaraswati Dwyana, M.Si.; and Dr. A. Masniawati, M.Si. as examiners. Also present were the Head of the Master of Biology Program, Dr. Juhriah, M.Si.; and the Head of the Biology Department, FMIPA UNHAS, Dr. Magdalena Litaay, M.Sc.
This thesis by Nurman provides information on the use of macroinvertebrates as bioindicators to evaluate water quality and assess ecological conditions, as well as the potential for water pollution in the Tangka River. Based on this information, the macroinvertebrate composition of certain species can be determined.
Based on Nurman's research, several recommendations can be made involving measures to reduce pollution, increase public awareness, or even revitalize river habitats, thereby indirectly contributing to scientific knowledge about river ecology and the use of macroinvertebrates. The results of this thesis examination state that Nurman, S.Si., M.Si. Graduated with an A.
