DOKTOR FISIKA

HISTORY

The Doctoral Study Program in Physics (PSDF) of the Physics Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Unhas (Hasanuddin University) was established on July 7, 2020, based on the Rector's Decree (SK) No. 3411/UN4.1/KEP/2020. In accordance with the regulations in effect at the time of its establishment, this decree granted the PSDF minimum accreditation, allowing it to admit new students. The PSDF admitted its first batch of new students in the Academic Year (TA) 2020/2021. After becoming operational and admitting students for the first time in 2020, the PSDF submitted its accreditation documents to the Independent Accreditation Institute for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) in 2022. It achieved a GOOD accreditation status based on LAMSAMA Decree No. 087/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/D/VIII/2023.

Along with the commitment to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of managing master's and doctoral programs at Unhas, the Rector of Unhas issued Rector's Decree (SK) No. 31/UN4.1/2023 concerning the Organization of the Unhas Doctoral Program. This regulation replaces Rector's Decree No. 2785/UN4.1/KEP/2018. In the new decree, the graduation requirement for those pursuing the pure research track is two (2) publications in Scopus-indexed international journals and one (1) publication in an indexed proceeding. Meanwhile, for those pursuing the combination track (coursework-research track), the requirement is one (1) publication in an indexed international journal and one (1) in an indexed proceeding. As a follow-up to this new regulation, the PSDF conducted a curriculum alignment workshop, the result of which was a refinement of the previously implemented curriculum (PSDF Curriculum 2019).
