Physics Department of FMIPA Unhas Holds Preparatory Meeting for LAMSAMA Accreditation Visit of the Doctoral Program in Physics

The Physics Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Hasanuddin, held a preparatory meeting for the accreditation visitation of the Doctoral Program (PhD) in Physics by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA), which is scheduled to take place on 28–31 January 2026.

The meeting was conducted on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, at the Physics Department Meeting Room, FMIPA Universitas Hasanuddin, and was attended by faculty members and department leadership. This activity constituted a strategic step to ensure the readiness of the Doctoral Program in Physics in facing the accreditation visitation process.

The agenda of the meeting focused on reviewing the readiness of accreditation documents, assigning responsibilities to the visitation support teams, and coordinating technical aspects of the LAMSAMA visitation. In addition, discussions were held on strengthening academic, research, and governance aspects of the study program, which are key components in the assessment by the accreditation assessors.

In his remarks, the Head of the Physics Department emphasized the importance of synergy and active participation from all members of the academic community in supporting the accreditation process of the Doctoral Program in Physics, considering that LAMSAMA accreditation serves as an important benchmark for the quality of higher education in the fields of natural sciences and formal sciences.

Through this preparatory meeting, the Physics Department of FMIPA Universitas Hasanuddin expressed optimism that the Doctoral Program in Physics will be well prepared to undergo the LAMSAMA accreditation visitation and achieve optimal results, as part of its continuous efforts to enhance the quality of education, research, and academic governance.
