A proud achievement has once again been accomplished by a student of the Informatics Doctoral Program, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University. Amiruddin Bengnga (Student ID: D06351002) successfully won the Best Paper award at The 13th Electrical Power, Electronics, Communications, Controls, and Informatics Seminar (EECCIS) 2026, a prestigious international conference held on June 2–4, 2026, at the Prof. Ir. Suryono Auditorium, Faculty of Engineering, Brawijaya University, Malang, Indonesia.

The award was given for the scientific paper titled:

“Geometric Recalibration of IndoBERT Embeddings for Classification of Short Indonesian Academic Texts.”

This research offers an innovative approach in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) through the optimization of IndoBERT embeddings representation using geometric recalibration techniques. The developed method is able to improve the classification performance of short Indonesian academic texts, thereby contributing to the development of more accurate and efficient natural language processing technology.

EECCIS 2026 carried the theme “Intelligent Technologies for Sustainable Living” and served as a forum for researchers, academics, and practitioners from various countries to present their latest research results in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, communications, control systems, and informatics. The Best Paper award is given to the best scientific work based on aspects of research novelty, methodological quality, scientific contribution, and potential impact on the development of science and technology.

The success of Amiruddin Bengnga demonstrates the research quality of Hasanuddin University's Informatics Doctoral Program students, who are capable of competing in international scientific forums. This achievement also reflects the commitment of the Informatics Doctoral Program in fostering an excellent research culture, reputable scientific publications, and global academic collaboration.
