Creating Human Resources with Character and Elegance Through Social and Business Etiquette Training

The Social and Business Communication Etiquette Training was held from September 26th to 28th, 2025, at the Antasari Place Hotel, South Jakarta. Five participants from the Directorate of Information Systems and Digital Transformation (DSITD) attended this training, aiming to strengthen communication skills and behavior, and build a positive professional image in the workplace.

Over the three days, participants gained a deeper understanding of the importance of etiquette, effective communication, and developing an elegant self-image. This training emphasized that success in the professional world is determined not only by technical skills, but also by the ability to interact, communicate, and present oneself professionally. Soft skills such as social etiquette, communication, and networking skills play a significant role in determining career success, accounting for up to 85%, while technical skills contribute only about 15%.

Through interactive sessions and simulations, participants learned that etiquette is not merely a formality but a reflection of character, respect, and professionalism. Appearance, body language, and speech are crucial elements in building a positive first impression. In the workplace, first impressions can be crucial for establishing lasting professional relationships.

Participants also learned about the importance of elegant and empathetic communication. Good communication involves not only speaking clearly but also actively listening, maintaining eye contact, and demonstrating honesty and consistency in every interaction. Trust is the foundation of professional relationships, built through transparency, responsibility, and openness to feedback.

The E.D.A. Method (Elegance in Existence, Elegance in Attitude, and Elegance in Dialogue) is at the core of all training materials. Through this approach, participants are encouraged to understand that elegance lies not only in appearance but also in attitude, behavior, and communication. By applying these principles, one can appear more confident, authoritative, and professional.

This activity emphasizes that etiquette and communication are not limitations, but rather the keys to building a strong and credible self-image. Through this training, participants are able to apply the values ​​of professionalism and good work ethics and become positive representatives for the institution in various situations.
