HISTORY
HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
- Chemistry Study Program is one of the eight study programs in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Hasanuddin University, established in 1963 under Decree No. 59/BM/PTIP/63.
- Since 1982, the program has produced graduates known at that time as Sarjana Muda (associate degree holders), and in 1985 it awarded its first Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (S1) degree.
- Between 1990 and 1995, the Chemistry Study Program was entrusted by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia to run a Diploma-3 (D-3) Program in Chemistry Education, graduating 231 alumni who served as chemistry teachers in senior high schools across Eastern Indonesia.
- The Chemistry Study Program has achieved an “A” accreditation from BAN-PT three times, in 2007, 2012, and 2018, and in 2023 it was awarded an “Excellent” accreditation by the Independent Accreditation Board for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA), No. 070/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/VII/2023, valid until 2028.
