Brief History of the Master of Government Science Program
The Master of Government Science Program was officially established on July 31, 2018, under Decree Number 156/SK/BAN-PT/Min-Akred/M/VII/2018. Prior to its establishment as an independent program, courses in this field were offered under the Regional Governance Master’s Concentration within the Public Administration Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Hasanuddin University, led by Prof. Dr. Rasyid Thaha, M.Si.
Following its official founding as a separate program, the Master of Government Science Program was headed by Prof. Dr. Nurlinah, M.Si. until December 2022, after which the leadership was assumed by Dr. A. M. Rusli, M.Si., who continues to serve in this role to the present day.
In 2020, the program earned an initial accreditation rating of “Good” based on Certificate Number 4093/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PKP/D/VII/2020, dated May 3, 2020, valid until May 3, 2023. Subsequently, in 2023, the program successfully achieved an improved accreditation rating of “Very Good” based on Certificate Number 1345/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.KP/M/IV/2023, dated May 3, 2023, valid until April 21, 2026.
Therefore, to continuously enhance the quality of education, ongoing efforts in curriculum development are essential.
