The Department of Mathematics is one of the departments within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The Department of Mathematics, formerly known as the Mathematics Department, was established in 1983. Over time and in response to changing needs, in 1995 the Department of Mathematics expanded by establishing two undergraduate programs, namely the Mathematics Program and the Statistics Program. Subsequently, in 2008, the Department of Mathematics proposed a Master's Program in Mathematics to keep pace with the times and global needs for mathematics in responding to knowledge and technology. The Master of Mathematics Study Program is the second Master's Study Program in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences after the Master of Chemistry Study Program.
