Benchmarking Activity for the Establishment of the Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering at Halu Oleo University at Hasanuddin University


Gowa, May 20, 2026 – The Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), welcomed a benchmarking visit from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Halu Oleo University (UHO), Kendari, on May 19–20, 2026, at the Faculty of Engineering Campus in Gowa. This activity was part of Halu Oleo University’s efforts to prepare for the establishment of its Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering.

The visit was warmly received by the leadership and management team of the Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering at UNHAS, led by the Head of the Study Program, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yusran, S.T., M.T. During the visit, the delegation from Halu Oleo University gained valuable insights into various aspects of graduate program management, including curriculum development, quality assurance systems, human resource management, and strategies for enhancing academic and research excellence.

In a collaborative and constructive atmosphere, representatives from both institutions engaged in discussions on key aspects of postgraduate education in electrical engineering. In addition to learning about the establishment and development of the Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering at UNHAS, the UHO delegation also had the opportunity to exchange experiences regarding the challenges and opportunities in advancing engineering education in Eastern Indonesia.

This benchmarking activity served as a strategic platform to strengthen academic collaboration between higher education institutions, particularly in the areas of education, research, and community engagement. Through this visit, Halu Oleo University was expected to gain valuable references and best practices to support the establishment of a high-quality Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering that meets national higher education standards.

The Head of the Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering at UNHAS expressed appreciation for the trust placed by Halu Oleo University in selecting UNHAS as one of its references in the development of a new graduate program. It is hoped that the outcomes of this benchmarking visit will contribute significantly to strengthening institutional capacity and improving the quality of electrical engineering education at both universities.

Through this initiative, Hasanuddin University reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the advancement of higher education in Indonesia by sharing experiences, best practices, and strengthening collaborative networks among universities. With a spirit of partnership and collaboration, it is expected that outstanding academic programs will continue to emerge, producing highly qualified graduates who contribute to national development and technological advancement in the future.
