Physics Student from Unhas Wins Bronze Medal at the 2025 National ONMIPA

Bandung, 20 November 2025 — The Department of Physics, Universitas Hasanuddin, proudly celebrates another academic achievement. Nurhaliza, a Physics student from the 2023 cohort, has won a Bronze Medal at the 2025 National Olympiad in Mathematics and Natural Sciences (ONMIPA).

The national level ONMIPA competition was held on 16–20 November 2025 at Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung, bringing together top students from across Indonesia in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Before the national stage, participants underwent a regional selection conducted by each LLDIKTI on 21–22 September 2025. From these selections, 65 of the best university students from across Indonesia were chosen to advance to the national competition.

In the Physics category, participants were tested on four major subject areas, including classical mechanics, electrodynamics, thermodynamics and statistical physics, as well as modern physics and quantum mechanics. The breadth of the material and the high level of difficulty required deep conceptual understanding and strong analytical skills. Amid this highly competitive environment, Nurhaliza delivered an outstanding performance, securing a Bronze Medal and bringing pride to both the Department of Physics and Universitas Hasanuddin.

The Head of the Department of Physics, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Wira Bahari Nurdin expressed his appreciation and admiration for the accomplishment. “This achievement not only reflects the academic quality of our students but also highlights the strong culture of coaching and competitive spirit within the department. We hope this success inspires other students to strive for excellence,” he said.

Nurhaliza’s success serves as a reminder that achievements are built through dedication, consistency, and the willingness to keep learning.
