Welcoming 196 New Students of Class 2026, Department of English Literature FIB Unhas Successfully Hosts PKKMB 2026
The Department of English Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Hasanuddin University, warmly welcomed 196 new students of the 2026 academic year through the New Student Campus Life Orientation (PKKMB) on Thursday (13/08/2026). Held at the Prof. Mattulada Auditorium, FIB Unhas, the event was carried out with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of community.
This department-level orientation serves as a crucial gateway for incoming students, acquainting them with the academic environment, campus facilities, and vibrant student life they will experience throughout their study at the Department of English Literature.
The event kicked off with an introductory session featuring the faculty members and administrative staff. During this segment, students were introduced to the educators who will mentor and support them across their academic journey.
The agenda then proceeded with an in-depth presentation on the department’s three core study tracks: Linguistics, Literature, and Education. This overview aimed to help students align their academic interests with potential career paths.
Adding a warm and interactive touch, the Student’s Voice session offered freshmen a platform to share their aspirations, thoughts, and motivation as they embark on their university life at Unhas.
Beyond academics, the orientation highlighted student involvement through an introduction to the English Literature Student Association (PERISAI) KMFIB-UH. The organization was featured as an essential hub for students to foster leadership skills, personal growth, and creative endeavors.
To wrap up the event, the department team provided hands-on assistance with the Study Plan Card (KRS) registration. This guided session ensured that all 196 incoming students could seamlessly complete their course enrollment for their first semester.
