Scientific Writing Workshop
Makassar, October 24, 2025 — The French Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), successfully conducted a Scientific Writing Workshop aimed at enhancing students’ academic literacy skills. The event took place on Friday, October 24, 2025, and was attended by students from various year levels.
The workshop was designed to guide participants in understanding the structure of academic writing, proper citation techniques, and effective strategies for producing well-argued scholarly texts. In addition to the lecture session, the speaker facilitated a practical exercise in which students were asked to develop academic paragraphs and analyze samples of strong research articles.
The Head of the French Literature Study Program emphasized that this activity is part of the program’s commitment to strengthening students’ research competencies. “We hope that our students will not only be able to write well, but also generate critical ideas that are relevant to the development of linguistic and literary studies,” she stated.
Participants showed great enthusiasm throughout the workshop. Many students expressed that the session helped them recognize common writing errors and provided practical guidelines that they could immediately apply to their coursework and thesis preparation.
Following the success of this event, the French Literature Study Program plans to organize further training sessions focusing on academic publication and research ethics. The program hopes that such initiatives will foster a stronger culture of academic writing among its students.
