History

History

The Applied Bachelor (D4) Program in Marine and Coastal Aquaculture at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) is a vocational study program located at the Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar and at Selayar Campus, Jl. R.A. Kartini, Selayar Island Regency. The campus was officially inaugurated in 2021 under the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries. Since 2022, the program has been placed under the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Hasanuddin University.

The Marine and Coastal Aquaculture Study Program (BDLP) is committed to producing practice-oriented graduates by emphasizing the development of education, managerial skills, technical competencies, knowledge, and professional attitudes. The program aims to produce graduates with an applied mindset in the field of marine and coastal aquaculture.

Therefore, the BDLP Study Program continuously strives to improve its quality within the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Hasanuddin University, through the development of the 2024 Curriculum, which specifically focuses on achieving graduate competencies that are excellent, high-quality, and highly competitive.

Let us express our gratitude to Almighty God for His blessings and grace, which have enabled the Marine and Coastal Aquaculture Study Program (BDLP), Faculty of Vocational Studies, Hasanuddin University, to continue growing and actively contributing to the advancement of vocational education in the field of marine and fisheries in Indonesia.

The BDLP Study Program is part of Hasanuddin University’s commitment to producing highly competent, adaptive, and practice-oriented vocational human resources. We equip our students with technical skills, scientific knowledge, and critical thinking abilities necessary to face the dynamic challenges of the marine aquaculture industry and sustainable coastal management.

With the support of professional educators, adequate laboratory and field facilities, and strong partnerships with government institutions, private sectors, and coastal communities, we strive to create a learning ecosystem that is practical and aligned with industry needs.

We recognize that future challenges in the mariculture sector are becoming increasingly complex—ranging from climate change issues and resource sustainability to digital transformation in the fisheries industry. Therefore, we continuously promote innovation, applied research, and community service that are solution-oriented and responsive to real-world needs.

Through this official website, we aim to provide an open platform for information and collaboration for all stakeholders to learn more about the profile, activities, and achievements of the Marine and Coastal Aquaculture Study Program. We also warmly welcome any form of collaboration to advance vocational marine education that is competitive, impactful, and relevant to society.
