Selayar, November 27, 2025 — The Marine and Coastal Aquaculture Study Program (BDLP), Faculty of Vocational Studies, Universitas Hasanuddin, attended a coordination meeting organized by Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (Baznas) of Selayar Islands Regency. The meeting took place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Baznas Selayar office and brought together leaders and representatives from higher education institutions operating in the region.

The coordination meeting focused on discussing mechanisms for educational assistance for students from Selayar who are pursuing their studies at universities within Selayar Islands Regency. This program is designed to expand access to higher education and to support students from underprivileged backgrounds so they can complete their studies without financial constraints.

The meeting was attended by representatives from several higher education institutions, including Universitas Hasanuddin (Selayar Vocational Campus), Universitas Terbuka, Institut Teknologi dan Sains Bisnis Muhammadiyah, and STIK Husada Bakti Bulukumba, all of which operate in the area.

Baznas Selayar reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that educational aid is distributed effectively and reaches those who need it most.

The representative from Universitas Hasanuddin welcomed the initiative and emphasized that collaboration between Baznas and higher education institutions is a strategic step toward strengthening human resource development in island regions.
