Unhas Faculty of Vocational Studies and BBPK Makassar Hold National Seminar on Optimizing Operative Dental and Oral Case Management in the Operating Room

The Faculty of Vocational Studies at Hasanuddin University (Unhas), in collaboration with the Makassar Health Training Center (BBPK), successfully held a National Seminar titled "Optimizing Operative Dental and Oral Case Management in the Operating Room" on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The event commenced at 08:00 WITA and was conducted in a hybrid format—hosted virtually via Zoom Meeting and in-person at the Scientific Meeting Building (GPI), Faculty of Vocational Studies, Hasanuddin University, Makassar.
This national seminar was organized as an initiative to enhance the competency of healthcare professionals, particularly dentists and dental therapists, in managing operative cases within a surgical environment. To ensure high quality and professional standards, the event was officially accredited by BBPK Makassar (Accreditation No: HK.02.02/F/4149/2025) with an "A" Rating.
Six Expert Speakers Feature in National Seminar
This seminar featured six speakers with high levels of competence in their respective fields. Muhammad Gazali, drg., MARS., Sp.B.M.Mf., SubSp Tr.Mf.S.Tm. presented material on team collaboration in handling oral and maxillofacial surgery cases in the operating room. Meanwhile, drg. Husni Mubarak, Sp.B.M.Mf. discussed the management of oral and maxillofacial surgery cases in the operating room setting.
The other speakers included Abhrianto, S.Tr.Kes., M.AP, who discussed the ethics of dental and oral therapy in the operating room, while Yanti Rahayu, S.ST explored the urgency of the dental and oral therapist's role in the operating room along with their specific duties and responsibilities. Dr. Muh Kemal Putra, M.Ked.Klin, Sp.An-TI delivered a presentation on anesthesia management for dental and oral surgery cases in the operating room. Lastly, Sudirman, S.Kep, Ns, M.Kes discussed the role of nurses in Surgical Site Infection (SSI) control.
Peserta dan Biaya Registrasi
This national seminar is open to dentists, dental and oral therapists, and those with a Plataran Sehat email account. The registration fee is set at Rp100,000 for online participants (dentists and dental therapists), Rp200,000 for offline participants, and Rp20,000 for students attending via the online mode. Payments can be made to BNI account 1933106136 under the name Dies Natalis Fakultas Vokasi.
This national seminar is expected to serve as a forum for sharing knowledge and experience among healthcare professionals, while simultaneously raising the standard of dental and oral healthcare services in operating rooms across Indonesia. With its hybrid format, this event provides easy access for participants from various regions to participate in enhancing their professional competence.
