SCIENTIFIC VISION

All academic activities of the Doctoral Program in Informatics (PSDIF), Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, are conducted in accordance with the following scientific vision:

"A Doctoral Program excelling in the delivery of education and the development of innovative research in the field of Informatics, grounded in the Indonesian Maritime Continent."

This vision explicitly reflects the commitment of the Doctoral Program in Informatics (PSDIF) to becoming a leading center for doctoral education that emphasizes academic excellence, research quality, and societal relevance. By focusing on the development of outstanding scholars and researchers in information technology, the program is dedicated to advancing knowledge in computing and its applications within the context of the Indonesian Maritime Continent. Graduates are expected to possess the competencies required to compete globally while making meaningful contributions to the advancement of information technology in Indonesia.

Furthermore, the program places strong emphasis on high-quality research in pervasive computing that addresses the unique challenges and opportunities of the Indonesian Maritime Continent. Through innovative and impactful research, the program seeks to generate scientific discoveries and technological solutions that contribute to sustainable development across the maritime region.

In addition to excellence in education and research, the program is committed to community engagement and the practical application of information technology. Graduates are expected to apply their knowledge and expertise to develop innovative solutions that address the needs of the Indonesian Maritime Continent, enhance societal well-being, and support digital transformation in strategic sectors such as transportation, the maritime economy, environmental sustainability, and national security. MISSION

The missions of the Doctoral Program in Informatics are as follows:

To produce graduates who demonstrate strong academic integrity, ethical values, advanced knowledge, and specialized competencies in Informatics and Computer Science, and who are capable of independently, creatively, and innovatively advancing knowledge and technology in response to the continuous evolution of the discipline.

To produce high-quality scientific research and technological innovations in information technology that advance the state of the art in pervasive computing within the context of the Indonesian Maritime Continent, and to disseminate these contributions through reputable national and international publications.

To disseminate and apply appropriate information technologies that contribute to improving the quality of life of society through community engagement, innovation, and technology transfer.

To establish and strengthen strategic collaborations with national and international institutions to enhance the quality, relevance, and impact of education, research, technological innovation, and graduate competencies.
