Goals

The Master’s Program in History aims to produce graduates with comprehensive historical knowledge, strong teaching capabilities, and the ability to conduct and produce scholarly research in history. The specific objectives are as follows:

  1. To cultivate graduates of integrity who are open-minded, responsive to change, and adaptive to advancements in historical studies, particularly in the fields of maritime history and regional issues.
  2. To equip graduates with the ability to develop regional cultures as integral pillars of national culture.
  3. To enable graduates to contribute to and advance Indonesian historiography.
  4. To develop graduates’ capacity to expand the study of ethnicity within a broader perspective, in line with national development needs while upholding local wisdom.
  5. To equip graduates with the ability to examine socio-cultural and economic issues by positioning history as a multidisciplinary approach.

Objectives

1. To prepare graduates for careers in government and private institutions, higher education, the creative economy sector, and historical communities.

2. To promote and sustain research in cultural history.

3. To contribute to and advance Indonesian historiography.

4. To develop the study of ethnicity within a broader perspective aligned with development needs while upholding local wisdom.

5. To address socio-economic issues through the application of historical perspectives within interdisciplinary approaches.
