The Biology Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, held a New Student Admissions Event and Campus Introduction Program in 2025.
The Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, proudly welcomes the arrival of new students of the Biology Undergraduate Study Program for the 2025/2026 Academic Year through the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) activity at the study program level.
The event took place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in the Unhas TV Room, Techno Science Center Building. Lecturers, administrative staff, and Biology students attended, creating a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere to welcome the new generation of academics.
This year's PKKMB activity for the Biology Undergraduate Study Program was chaired by Dr. Andi Gita Maulidyah IS, M. Si. In her report as the committee chair, she conveyed several things related to the implementation of the PKKMB activity, including the objectives and the series of events that had been prepared.
On that occasion, it was also informed that in the 2025/2026 academic year, the Biology Undergraduate Study Program accepted 105 new students from various schools in almost all regions of Indonesia.
The Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) was a special opportunity that received a warm welcome from the Head of the Biology Department, FMIPA, Hasanuddin University, Mrs. Dr. Magdalena Litaay, M.Sc.
In his remarks, he emphasized that this activity was the first step for new students to learn more about the various important things they would experience during their education in the Biology Undergraduate Study Program.
This event was officially opened by Mrs. Dr. Nur Haedar, M.Si., as Deputy Dean II of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, who marked the start of a series of PKKMB activities at the study program level with great enthusiasm.
In addition to the main series of activities, the Biology Department also presented a Sharing Session aimed at fostering motivation and enthusiasm for learning in biology among new students. On this occasion, one of our outstanding alumni, Dedeng Wahyudi, S.Si., was invited to share his experiences and provide inspiration.
Through this session, Dedeng shared his academic journey, valuable experiences during his studies in the Biology Study Program, and various study tips that can be used as provisions for new students in undergoing lectures.
In a series of PKKMB activities, the Department of Biology also gave appreciation to 4 outstanding students by giving prizes and certificates of appreciation as a form of motivation to continue working and contributing.
In addition, as a manifestation of the creativity of new students, special awards were also given to 3 participants in the best video category , which added to the excitement of the activity while encouraging a competitive and innovative spirit among students.
With the spirit of togetherness reflected in this welcoming ceremony for new students in the Undergraduate Biology Program, it is hoped that the new students will feel the full support of the academic environment and be motivated to develop their potential. They are also expected to seize every opportunity and face challenges with inspiration and optimism.
The PKKMB activity was then closed with a group photo session involving lecturers, educational staff, and Biology students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University as a symbol of togetherness and solidarity of the entire academic community.
