Unhas Master of Public Administration Study Program Wins Award for Successfully Managing Two International Programs

Makassar, November 14, 2025 — The Master of Public Administration (MAP) Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Hasanuddin University (Unhas) won an award for its success in managing two leading international programs. The award was presented by the Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs at Unhas, Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin, M.Kes., Ph.D,. Sp.BM(K), accompanied by the Director of Education Transformation and Learning Innovation, Dr. Sahriyanti Saad, to the Head of the MAP FISIP Unhas Program, Prof. Dr. Gita Susanti, M.Si

The award was presented at the International Study Program Socialization event organized by the Directorate of Education Transformation and Learning Innovation of Unhas on Friday, November 14, 2025, and attended by all study program chairs and faculty leaders within Unhas.

Award for Two Leading International Programs

The MAP Study Program has successfully developed and managed two international programs. First, the Double Degree Program with the Master of Public Management, School of Business and Government, Victoria University of Wellington (VUW), New Zealand. This program is supported by LPDP scholarships and attracts prospective students from diverse academic backgrounds who are interested in deepening their knowledge and skills in public management, particularly related to digital government. Second, the Double Degree and Joint Degree Program with the Master of Social Design and Administration, Rikkyo University, Japan.

Through this program, students have the opportunity to learn directly about social design, public governance, and Japanese public service practices, which are renowned for their innovation and effectiveness.

Both programs are considered successful in expanding Unhas' international network and providing global learning experiences for students, while also enhancing the university's academic reputation in the field of public administration.

Support for Study Program Development

As a token of appreciation, Unhas provided Rp20 million in funding for each cooperation program. This support is expected to strengthen curriculum development, improve program quality, and expand academic collaboration in the future.

In addition to the MAP Study Program, a similar award was also given to the FISIP Unhas International Relations Undergraduate Study Program for its performance in managing a double degree international program with Queensland University, Australia. In addition, there are several other study programs that received the same award from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Medicine. 

Encouragement for Strengthening Unhas Internationalization

In his speech, Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin, M.Kes., Ph.D,. Sp.BM(K) emphasized that this activity was part of efforts to strengthen Unhas' internationalization strategy. The award and support are expected to motivate other study programs to develop academic cooperation with leading universities in the world.

The internationalization of academic programs is considered a crucial step toward enhancing the quality of education, fostering innovative learning, and boosting research capacity for the entire Unhas academic community.
