Delegation from the Department of Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Hasanuddin University Participates in the 2025 IAPA Annual Congress and Conference in Kupang

Kupang, October 29, 2025 — The Department of Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Hasanuddin University (Unhas) took part in the 2025 Annual Congress and Conference of the Indonesian Public Administration Association (IAPA) held at Cendana University, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. The event took place on October 28–29, 2025, and brought together academics, practitioners, and researchers in the field of public administration from various universities in Indonesia and abroad.

The 13-member Unhas delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Alwi, Head of the Department of Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Unhas. This participation is part of the Department of Administrative Sciences' commitment to strengthening national and international academic networks and encouraging scientific contributions to the development of public administration in Indonesia.

 

On the first day, the event began with the IAPA Central Executive Board (DPP) Congress. In this session, the Chair of the IAPA DPP, Prof. Dr. Agus Pramusinto (Professor of Public Administration at Gadjah Mada University), delivered a report on the accountability of the previous management period. Also present was Prof. Dr. Sangkala, Professor of Public Management at Hasanuddin University, who serves as Chair of the IAPA Expert Council.

The Congress then appointed Prof. Dr. M.R. Khairul Muluk (Professor of Public Administration at Brawijaya University) as Chair of the DPP IAPA for the 2026–2029 term through a democratic election process.

On the second day, activities continued with the IAPA Annual International Conference with the theme "Indigenous Public Administration: Bridging Tradition, Innovation, and Governance for a World-Class Public Sector."

The conference featured international speakers from South Korea, Sweden, the United States, Timor Leste, as well as host academics from Cendana University. The event was officially opened by the Deputy Governor of East Nusa Tenggara, Inspector General (Ret.) Drs. Johni Asadoma, M.Hum, and was also attended by the Mayor of Kupang.

On this occasion, the delegation from the Department of Administrative Sciences at Unhas also presented their research results in various panel sessions. These presentations provided an opportunity to obtain feedback from academics and researchers, which will strengthen the quality of the work before it is published in reputable international journals and proceedings.
