Prof. Dr. H. A.M. Rusli, M.Si Inaugurated as Professor in Government Ecology

Makassar, August 5, 2025 – Hasanuddin University (Unhas) proudly marked another academic milestone with the inauguration of Prof. Dr. H. A.M. Rusli, M.Si as Professor in the field of Government Ecology. The ceremony took place today at the Unhas Rectorate Building, attended by university leaders, members of the academic community, and distinguished guests from various sectors.

In his inaugural address, Prof. Rusli emphasized the importance of government ecology as a new approach to understanding the relationship between bureaucracy, policy, and social dynamics.

“Government ecology is not merely about structure; it is about fostering healthy interactions between bureaucracy and society to create adaptive governance. When the governance ecosystem is disrupted, the consequences can be seen in bureaucratic inefficiency, the inability to respond to change, and the erosion of public trust,” he stated.

The inauguration was warmly welcomed by many, including the Secretary of the Department of Government Science at Unhas, Ashar Prawitno, who expressed his pride in this achievement.

“We are truly grateful for the inauguration of Prof. Dr. H. A.M. Rusli as Professor. His presence will significantly enrich the body of knowledge in the field of government studies, particularly within our department. Moreover, we take great pride in the fact that he is the only professor in Indonesia specializing in government ecology. We firmly believe that his work will serve as an inspiration for the advancement of governance studies in the future,” he said.

With this inauguration, the Department of Government Science at Unhas is expected to further strengthen its academic contributions in developing strategic research and insights relevant to the challenges of bureaucratic governance in Indonesia.
