Mathematics Master’s Colloquium Strengthens Academic Collaboration between Universitas Brawijaya and Universitas Hasanuddin
The Master’s Program in Mathematics at Universitas Brawijaya, in collaboration with Universitas Hasanuddin, held a Mathematics Master’s Colloquium on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. The event was conducted in a hybrid format at the Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of GS Building, Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Technology, and Mathematics (FSTEM), Universitas Brawijaya, from 09.00 to 11.00 WIB.
The colloquium served as an academic platform for exchanging ideas, broadening scientific perspectives, and strengthening inter-university collaboration in the development of mathematics. During the event, two Master’s students from Universitas Hasanuddin presented their respective research topics.
The first presenter, Safrizal Ardana Ardiyansa, delivered a presentation entitled “Stock Portfolio Optimization Using Metaheuristic-Based Algorithms.” The study explores the application of metaheuristic approaches to determine an optimal stock portfolio composition and support more effective investment decision-making.
The second presenter, Zaidulkhair Hamzi, presented a study entitled “The Behavior of the Chromatic Index of Bipartite Graphs under Bondy-Chvátal Closure.” The research focuses on graph theory, particularly the characteristics and behavior of the chromatic index of bipartite graphs under the Bondy-Chvátal Closure approach.
Through scientific discussions and the exchange of ideas, the colloquium is expected to enhance the quality of student research while creating broader opportunities for academic collaboration between Universitas Brawijaya and Universitas Hasanuddin. The event also reflects the commitment of both institutions to fostering an active, collaborative, and knowledge-oriented academic environment.
