During the conference, the team presented their research titled A Historical Analysis of Social Structure Changes among Sago Farmers in the Indigenous Community of Sassa Village, Baebunta District. The study highlights how the socio-economic dynamics of the indigenous sago-producing community have evolved due to policy developments, market pressures, and environmental transformations. Using a social-historical approach, the research traces the shifts in labor relations, land ownership patterns, and traditional values that shape the local social structure.
The participation of Universitas Hasanuddin’s academic team in ICESD 2025 reflects a strong commitment to contributing to sustainable development issues rooted in local contexts and informed by interdisciplinary perspectives.
