The Hasanuddin University Tourism Study Program is a study program under the auspices of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, initiated for the first time in the Senate Meeting of the Faculty of Budya on Thursday, February 26, 2022, with the following decision:
- In this meeting, it was decided that the tourism study program must be realized immediately, and it is planned that in 2022, it will be able to accept new students, considering the high public interest in this study program.
- Based on the potential and description above, FCS views the opening of the tourism study program as very urgent, and by paying attention to the following legality aspects: Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, Law Number 12 of 2012 concerning Higher Education, Government Regulation No. 19/2005 on National Education Standards, PP No. 32-2013 Amendment of Government Regulation No. 19-2005 Concerning National Education Standards, Ministerial Regulation No. 85/2008 concerning Guidelines for the Preparation of Statute, Kepdirjen DIKTI No. 108/DIKTI/Kep/2000 concerning Guidelines for the Opening of Study Programs, Guide to Applying for a New Study Program Implementation Permit (Online Study Guide), Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 53 of 2015 concerning the Statute of Hasanuddin University, Hasanuddin University Development Plan 2015-2030, Strategic Plan (Renstra) of Hasanuddin University 2020-2024, FCS Strategic Plan (Renstra) 2020-2024, Statement of Recommendation from the Quality Assurance Group.
The Sudi Tourism program, in its current stage of development, is still relatively young as a study program. However, since 2022 until now, the tourism study program has shown a significant trend of increasing students. Data for the 2025/2026 academic year shows 101 students enrolled in the Tourism Study Program.
Efforts and hard work are often guided, so that in 2024 the Unhas Tourism Study Program will receive accreditation from BAN-PT with a Good Predicate. Of course, this is a basic step for the Tourism Study Program to reach international accreditation.
