Community Service Program: Introduction to French Language and Culture, Film Screening, and Film Discussion

Makassar, October 11, 2026 - The Department of French Literature, Faculty of Humanities, Hasanuddin University, in collaboration with Diskusi Buku Bareng, held a community service program introducing French language and culture. The program included a film screening and a film discussion, and took place at Makassar Creative Hub on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

The program began with a series of sharing sessions. The first session was delivered by Dr. Hasbullah, M.Hum., who talked about the history and literature of France. The second session was delivered by Yayuk Larasari, S.S., M.A., who spoke about the AI Act in Europe, with a focus on France. The third session was delivered by Sitti Fhatimah Sarro, S.S., M.A., who shared tips for learning French.

After the sharing sessions, participants watched the film Un Monde Merveilleux together. The program then continued with a discussion and Q&A session moderated by Alung, S.S., M.A. Two speakers joined this session: Dr. Andi Faisal, S.S., M.Hum. and Dr. Prasuri Kuswarini, M.A.

The discussion went smoothly and was lively. Participants shared their own views on the film, as well as their opinions and arguments on AI.

Through this program, the Department of French Literature hopes the public will become more familiar with French language and culture, and more interested in learning it. The program also served as a space for the community to discuss and exchange ideas.
