Warung Prancis at Hasanuddin University Central Library Hosts Les Choristes Screening and Discussion with French Literature Students

Makassar, September 23, 2026 – Warung Prancis at the Central Library of Hasanuddin University held a film screening and discussion with students of the Department of French Literature, Faculty of Humanities, on Wednesday (September 23, 2026). The film shown was Les Choristes, a French film widely loved for its strong story and beautiful music.

The event gave students a chance to watch a French-language film and study it closely. Les Choristes tells the story of a supervisor at a boarding school in France in the late 1940s. Through music and choir singing, he brings change to the lives of the boys in his care. From this story, participants talked about education, compassion, and hope in difficult times.

After the film, the event continued with a discussion. Students shared their views on the plot, the characters, the role of music in setting the mood, and the French social and cultural background shown in the film.
