French Literature Study Program at UNHAS Held Festival de la Culture: Students Presented a Traditional Indonesian Fashion Show

The French Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), successfully held the Festival de la Culture, an event dedicated to celebrating cultural diversity and enhancing students’ understanding of both local and global traditions.
The highlight of the festival was a fashion show in which students presented traditional attire from various regions across Indonesia. From Sulawesi and Java to Bali, Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Papua, the colourful display of traditional clothing showcased the richness of Indonesian heritage and reflected the students’ enthusiasm in bringing local culture into a French-themed cultural event.

Throughout the fashion show, participants walked the runway confidently, accompanied by brief explanations about the cultural origins and meanings of the outfits they wore. The activity served not only as a creative showcase but also as an opportunity to strengthen cultural awareness among students.
The French Literature Study Program expressed hopes that the Festival de la Culture will continue to be a meaningful platform for students to broaden their cultural perspectives and express their identity in an inclusive and inspiring way.
