Dr. Ir. Chairul Paotonan, ST., MT., Returns to Lead the Department of Ocean Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, for the 2025/2029 Period as the Bearer of Additional Duties

Administratively, the term of office of the Head of the Department of Ocean Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University for the 2021/2025 period ended on May 19, 2021 according to the Decree of the Rector of Hasanuddin University concerning the Appointment of the Head of the Department of Ocean Engineering Number: 2906/UN4.1/KEP/2021 dated May 5, 2021. Therefore, on April 16, 2025, the Head of the Department of Ocean Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University was elected and appointed by acclamation Dr. Ir. Chairul Paotonan, ST., MT., continues to lead the department which is the only study program with full IABEE international accreditation at the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, until this news.

Based on the results of the election by acclamation at the department level, it was then submitted to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for further processing. As a requirement for the proposal to the Chancellor of Hasanuddin University, the candidate for Head of Department received consideration and approval in the Senate of the Faculty of Engineering which was held on May 14, 2025. After receiving consideration and approval by the Senate Members of the Faculty of Engineering, Unhas, then on May 15, 2025, Chairul was inaugurated as Head of the Department of Ocean Engineering, FT Unhas for the second period or the 2025/2029 Period.
