Environmental Engineering Students of Hasanuddin University Win Second Runner-up at the World Environment Day 2026 Scientific Writing Competition

Students from the Undergraduate Program in Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, have once again brought pride to the university by securing Second Runner-up in the World Environment Day 2026 Scientific Writing Competition, organized by PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP).
The award-winning team consisted of Dira Inayah (D131221017), Sumira Choerunisa Rante Padang (D131221071) and Hidayatullah (H031221057). Their scientific paper demonstrated strong analytical skills, creativity, and innovative ideas in addressing environmental sustainability issues. Competing against participants from various universities across Indonesia, the team successfully earned the Second Runner-up title after an intensive evaluation process.
This achievement was made possible through the guidance and mentorship of Ir. Zarah Arwieny Hanami, S.T., M.T., who provided continuous academic support throughout the preparation and presentation of the scientific paper.
Organized to commemorate World Environment Day 2026, the competition served as a platform for students to develop their research capabilities, critical thinking skills, and innovative solutions to contemporary environmental challenges. Beyond the competition itself, the event encouraged collaboration and the exchange of ideas among young scholars committed to advancing sustainable development.
The Department of Environmental Engineering, Hasanuddin University, expressed its appreciation for the students' outstanding accomplishment. This achievement reflects the department's commitment to fostering academic excellence and encouraging students to actively participate in national and international competitions while contributing meaningful solutions to environmental issues through research and innovation.
