Building Academic Connections: Students and Lecturers from Halu Oleo University Visit the Environmental Engineering Laboratory of Hasanuddin University

Gowa, December 13, 2022 – As part of efforts to broaden academic perspectives and strengthen inter-university collaboration in Eastern Indonesia, the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University (Unhas), welcomed a study visit from Halu Oleo University (UHO) on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Held at the Gowa Campus, the visit provided an opportunity for participants to exchange knowledge on environmental research facilities and laboratory practices.

The delegation from UHO consisted of two faculty members accompanied by a group of students. They were warmly welcomed by faculty members, laboratory staff, and student representatives from the Department of Environmental Engineering at Hasanuddin University.

The main purpose of the visit was to observe the advanced laboratory facilities available at the Department of Environmental Engineering, which serve as one of the leading centers for environmental research in South Sulawesi. During the laboratory tour, the delegation visited several specialized laboratories, including the Water Quality Laboratory and the Air Quality and Noise Laboratory.

Throughout the visit, interactive discussions took place between the UHO students and the laboratory staff of Hasanuddin University. They exchanged insights on sample testing procedures, the operation of advanced analytical instruments, and the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices within the laboratories.

A representative of the Department of Environmental Engineering at Hasanuddin University expressed appreciation for the visit.

The visit concluded with a group photo session at the Gowa Campus and the presentation of commemorative souvenirs as a symbol of the strong friendship and enduring academic partnership between Hasanuddin University and Halu Oleo University.
