Prof. Mitsuhiko Hata Shares Insights on Aerosol Measurement Technology in Guest Lecture at Hasanuddin University

Gowa, January 13, 2026 – The Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University organized a hybrid Guest Lecture featuring Prof. Mitsuhiko Hata from Kanazawa University, Japan, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (WITA). The event was conducted onsite at the 2nd Floor, Co-Working Space Café Insinyur, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, while participants also joined virtually through an online platform.
The guest lecture was entitled "Another One Sees the Dust: Fundamental of Aerosol Measurement Technology," highlighting the fundamental principles of aerosol measurement technology and its crucial role in air quality monitoring and environmental health research.
The event was organized as part of the Department's commitment to enriching the academic experience of students and faculty members through collaboration with international scholars. During his presentation, Prof. Hata introduced the fundamental concepts of aerosols, atmospheric particle characteristics, various aerosol measurement techniques, and their applications in air pollution studies and public health protection.
The lecture was followed by an engaging discussion session, during which both onsite and online participants actively exchanged ideas and raised questions regarding recent developments in aerosol measurement technology, challenges in air quality monitoring, and research opportunities in environmental engineering.
