BDLP Lecturer Awarded PhD Scholarship to Japan Through the MEXT Scholarship U to U Program
Selayar — Proud news comes from the Marine and Coastal Aquaculture Study Program (BDLP), Vocational Faculty, Hasanuddin University. One of BDLP’s young lecturers, Anugerah Saputra, S.Pi., M.Si., has successfully been awarded a full scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) through the University to University (U to U) Scholarship Program to pursue a PhD in Japan.
This prestigious scholarship from the Government of Japan is one of the most competitive international programs aimed at outstanding academics and researchers from around the world. Through this program, Anugerah Saputra will undertake doctoral studies at a partner university of Hasanuddin University in Japan, focusing on research aligned with marine aquaculture and the development of sustainable aquaculture technologies.
In his statement, Anugerah Saputra expressed gratitude and hope that this opportunity would serve as an important step toward contributing more significantly to the advancement of knowledge, particularly in the field of marine aquaculture.
“This scholarship is a valuable opportunity to broaden my perspective and expand international research collaborations. I hope that the knowledge and experience gained in Japan can later be brought back to strengthen the quality of education and research in BDLP,” he said.
The Head of the BDLP Study Program, Dr. Marlina Achmad, also expressed appreciation for the achievement.
“We are very proud of Mr. Anugerah’s accomplishment. This serves as motivation for other lecturers and students to continue improving academic quality and building international networks,” she stated.
This achievement reinforces the BDLP Study Program’s commitment to promoting the internationalization of vocational education and supporting the implementation of Asta Cita as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 14 (Life Below Water).
