BAZNAS Selayar Islands Regency Provides Educational Assistance to 6 Vocational Students at Unhas
Selayar, July 24, 2025 – The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Selayar Islands Regency demonstrated its commitment to supporting higher education by presenting educational grants to six high-achieving students from the Vocational Faculty of Hasanuddin University (Unhas). The symbolic presentation took place at the Unhas Campus in Makassar today.
This educational assistance is specifically intended for six students currently pursuing studies in two flagship study programs at the Unhas Vocational Faculty:
1. Tourism Destination Study Program: 3 (three) students.
2. Marine and Coastal Cultivation Study Program: 3 (three) students.
The assistance was handed over directly by the leadership of BAZNAS Selayar Islands Regency. Mr. Andi Baso, SH., MH., as the 3rd Vice Chair of BAZNAS Selayar Islands Regency, officially handed over the assistance. The Faculty of Vocational Studies at Unhas was represented by Mr. Edison, S.AP., MInterSustTourMgt, who spoke on behalf of the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Hasanuddin University.
In his remarks, Mr. Andi Baso stated that this assistance reflects BAZNAS Selayar Islands Regency’s commitment to supporting the education of the younger generation, particularly the brightest students from Selayar who have successfully pursued higher education at prestigious universities.
“Education is the best investment for the nation’s future. BAZNAS of Selayar Islands Regency is committed to continuing to support high-achieving students, especially those from Selayar, so they can successfully complete their studies without being burdened by costs. We hope this assistance will ease their burden and motivate these students to study even harder,” said Andi Baso.
Meanwhile, Mr. Edison, S.AP., MInterSustTourMgt., representing the Vocational Faculty of Unhas, expressed his deep appreciation for the concern and tangible support from BAZNAS Selayar Islands Regency.
