Unhas' Digital Communication Vocational Program Breakthrough: Partnering with GamecommID, Ready to Dominate the Creative Industry!

MAKASSAR – The Digital Communication Study Program (Komdig) at the Faculty of Vocational Studies at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) continues to strengthen its efforts to produce superior human resources in the digital field. On Thursday (April 23rd), a strategic meeting was held with GamecommID in the Faculty of Vocational Studies Meeting Room at Unhas to discuss plans for a comprehensive collaboration agreement.

The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Zainuddin, M.Si., Vice Dean for Planning and Resources, who in his remarks emphasized the importance of the Digital Communication Study Program (Komdig) as a response to the challenges of the times. "We hope that Komdig will become a leading study program staffed by creative young people. With the full support of industry partners like GamecommID, we are optimistic that this program can grow rapidly in line with our shared hopes," said Prof. Zainuddin in his remarks.

This collaboration is no joke, offering four concrete programs that will directly impact the educational and practical aspects of students. First, an educational program through the presence of industry practitioners who will teach online every one to two months. Second, a national-scale seminar and workshop are planned as part of the prestigious celebrations for the Faculty of Vocational Studies' anniversary. Third, a special event for Event Organizer students to showcase various game products created by Indonesians. Finally, intensive consulting and mentorship services are provided to support students' career development and creativity on an ongoing basis.

Furthermore, this collaboration is projected to continue until August, with Sere Kalina, founder of gamecommid, scheduled to speak at the Faculty of Vocational Studies' New Student Admissions (PMB). Other strategic plans include training for lecturers using facilities at the Gowa KPTK (KPTK Gowa), audiovisual production training for students, and an industry internship program.

This collaboration, which focuses on education and training, is expected to create synergy between academia and industry, while also opening up broader opportunities for Unhas Vocational Studies students to pursue careers in the national digital creative ecosystem.

This meeting was attended by important officials who showed the seriousness of both parties, including the GamecommID Team, Dimas Wahyu Jatmiko S.iP, Salman Al Farisi S.Tr.Kom and the Gowa KPTK BPPMPV Team, Sadariah, S.Pd. MM., Suwarwin, SE., as well as internal leaders such as the Vice Dean for Planning and Resources, the Head of the Vocational Faculty Quality Assurance Group, and the Head and Lecturer Team of the Digital Communication Study Program. This cross-sector synergy is expected to be able to produce Unhas Vocational graduates who not only have diplomas, but also have real competencies and extensive networks in the national digital creative industry.
