Unhas Forges Strategic Partnerships with IMIP and Huayou, Fostering Tangible University-Industry Collaboration

Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) continues to strengthen its collaboration with the industrial sector by signing cooperation agreements with two giants in the mining and metallurgy industries: PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) and PT Huayou International Mining. This historic event, held at the Unhas Tamalanrea Campus, was witnessed by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Stella Christie, Ph.D.

Under this strategic agreement, the Extractive Metallurgy Technology Study Program within the Vocational Faculty takes a leading role through the establishment of a "Downstreaming Class" in special partnership with PT IMIP. Meanwhile, PT Huayou is contributing through incentive programs and high-achiever classes for several other undergraduate study programs at Unhas.

According to Unhas Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., this center of excellence will serve as a space for tangible collaboration where vocational students can learn directly from industry practitioners. This synergy among academia, industry, and the government is expected to produce top-tier human resources capable of meeting the needs of strategic industries in Eastern Indonesia, while also serving as a model for innovative and relevant vocational education.
