Language Month 2025: Dialogue on Language and Literature

MAKASSAR — In celebration of Language Month, the Department of Indonesian Literature at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Hasanuddin (FIB Unhas), is hosting an event titled Dialogue on Language and Literature with the theme “Indonesian Language and Literature in the Perspective of Digital Humanities.”

The event will take place at the Mattulada Hall, FIB Unhas, on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM WITA. It will feature three speakers from diverse academic and linguistic institutions:

  • Prof. Dr. Munira Hasjim, S.S., M.Hum. Professor of Indonesian Literature, Universitas Hasanuddin
  • Martin Suryajaya Lecturer at the Graduate School, Jakarta Institute of the Arts (IKJ)
  • Toha Machsum, S.Ag., M.Ag. Head of the Language Office for South Sulawesi Province

This dialogue aims to explore the role and development of the Indonesian language and literature in the digital age, particularly within the framework of humanities studies. The speakers will discuss how technological transformation influences linguistic practices, literary production, and academic approaches to the humanities.
