Supporting Leading Research, 8 Biology Lecturers at Hasanuddin University Received 2025 BIMA Grants from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.

Makassar, May 24, 2025 – The Biology Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University, remains committed to promoting outstanding research. This is evidenced by the success of eight lecturers in obtaining research grants through various BIMA Research Program Funding Assistance schemes from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology in 2025. This achievement is clear evidence of the quality and competitiveness of research produced by the Unhas Biology academic community at the national level.

Six lecturers have successfully secured research grant funding under the Regular Fundamental Research Scheme (PFR) from the BIMA program. The PFR scheme is a form of government support to encourage science-based basic research that has the potential to be further developed into applicable innovations for society and the environment.

This grant is a form of recognition for the quality and relevance of research developed by lecturers at Hasanuddin University, especially the Department of Biology. The lecturers who successfully passed the funding for the PFR Scheme are Prof. Dr. Fahruddin, M.Si., Prof. Dr. Rosana Agus, M.Si., Dr. Nur Haedar, S.Si., M.Si., Dr. Eva Yohannes, M.Si., Dr. Andi Masniawati, M.Si., Dr. Andi Gita Maulidiyah Indraswari Suhri, M.Si.

Furthermore, the Hasanuddin University Biology Department's commitment to supporting student research quality improvement has also borne fruit. Three lecturers have successfully qualified as supervisors under the Master's Thesis Completion (PPS-PTM) funding scheme and one under the Doctoral Dissertation Completion (PPS-PDD) scheme, funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology's BIMA Program in 2025.

This program is an initiative to accelerate the completion of postgraduate student studies through funding support for quality, solution-oriented research on strategic issues. The supervisors of students who successfully received the grants are Prof. Dr. Fahruddin, M.Sc. for the PDD and PTM schemes, Prof. Dr. Dirayah R. Husain, DEA., and Dr. Magdalena Litaay, M.Sc. for the PTM scheme.
