Intended Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the Doctoral (PhD) Program in Indonesian Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University are scholars possessing scholarly authority, research maturity, and a high capacity for innovation. The program produces graduates with critical, analytical, and original thinking, capable of making substantive contributions to the development of Indonesian language, literature, and philology, as well as playing an active role in addressing national issues related to their field.

Our graduates' primary profiles are designed to fill the following strategic roles:

1. Expert and Principal Researcher Graduates possess the highest level of competence to conduct original, in-depth, and interdisciplinary independent research in the field of Indonesian language and literature. They are capable of developing new theories, publishing scholarly work in reputable international journals, and serving as authorities at the national and global levels.

2. Language Planner and Consultant As Language Planners, graduates are able to design, analyze, and evaluate language policies for government and private institutions. They have the sensitivity to map the linguistic landscape and formulate language development strategies relevant to contemporary needs.

3. Expert Language Specialist and Program Developer As advanced Indonesian Language and Literature Specialists, graduates not only master the subject matter but are also capable of designing large-scale outreach programs, training other specialists (Training of Trainers - TOT), and serving as expert consultants for institutions such as the Language Development and Cultivation Agency (Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa), media, and educational institutions.

4. Professional Editor and Publications Manager Graduates are qualified as Indonesian Language Editors at managerial and substantive levels. They are capable of managing the editorial boards of scholarly journals, serving as substantive editors for academic manuscripts, and ensuring the highest quality standards in scholarly publications in the field of language and literature.

5. Academic and Educator Graduates are prepared to become professional teaching staff (lecturers and professors) at higher education institutions. They are capable of developing curricula, supervising undergraduate (S1), graduate (S2), and doctoral (S3) students, and leading research groups to cultivate the next generation of Indonesian language and literature researchers.
