Education and research activities are supported by two principal laboratories for wave and hydrodynamic experiments and nine research groups fostering graduate research, academic collaboration, and the development of ocean engineering expertise.

MAIN FACILITY | Flume Wave Maker

Ocean Engineering Technology Laboratory

Supports wave-generation experiments using a Flume Wave Maker, the observation of flow characteristics, and investigations of wave interactions with ocean structures.

MAIN FACILITY | Wave Maker for Basin

Coastal and Environmental Laboratory

Supports coastal and ocean environmental studies using a Wave Maker for Basin for wave experiments, coastal processes, and wave interactions with coastal infrastructure.

RESEARCH GROUP 01 Ocean Structural Analysis (OSAREL) Structural behavior, strength, integrity, and the response of ocean structures to environmental and operational loads.	RESEARCH GROUP 02 Design and Operation of Floating Structures (DOFLER) Design, stability, motions, and operations of floating structures in ocean environments.
RESEARCH GROUP 03 Offshore Production and Subsea Works (OPART) Planning and management of offshore structure production, subsea operations, and underwater works.	RESEARCH GROUP 04 Ocean Hazards and Weather Anomalies Coastal and ocean hazards, abnormal weather, risk assessment, mitigation, and coastal resilience.
RESEARCH GROUP 05 Coastal and Ocean Modelling Modelling waves, currents, sediment transport, and the dynamics of coastal and ocean environments.
