Makassar, June 23, 2024 — Hasanuddin University continues to demonstrate its commitment to encouraging students to actively engage in the professional world through the implementation of the Impact Internship Program . On Monday, June 23, 2024, the Unhas 2025 Impact Internship Team officially held a socialization event for the program aimed at academic stakeholders, including vice deans, heads of study programs, prospective program supervisors, and MBKM managers from various faculties within Hasanuddin University.

The event took place online and was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin, M.Kes., Ph.D, Sp.BM(K) . In his remarks, Prof. Ruslin emphasized that the Impact Internship Program is a crucial part of the implementation of the Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) policy initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Indonesia. He called this program a crucial strategy in bridging the gap between the academic world and the world of work.

"Through the Impact Internship Program, students not only gain real-world work experience but also have the opportunity to make a direct contribution to society and the industrial world. This is what we mean by having an impact —not only on themselves, but also on their surroundings," said Prof. Ruslin in his remarks.

The presentation session was opened by Prof. Makkarennu, S.Hut., M.Sc., Ph.D. , the Coordinator of the Unhas Impact Internship. In his presentation, he reviewed in depth the basic philosophy of this program, starting from the importance of synergy between universities and industrial partners, to the concrete results of the internship implementation in previous years. He emphasized that the Impact Internship is not only a learning vehicle for students, but also an institutional medium in building long-term networks and collaborations.

In addition, Prof. Makkarennu also reminded the importance of the active role of the supervising lecturers and study program leaders in supporting the success of this program, starting from participant selection, mentoring during the internship, to the evaluation process of the activity results.

The next session was filled by Muhammad Alief Fahdal Imran Oemar, ST., M.Sc , a member of the Unhas 2035 Impact Internship Working Group Team, who technically guided participants on how to access and utilize the official Impact Internship page which has been integrated with the national MBKM platform owned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. In his presentation, he explained the registration procedure, how to choose an internship partner that suits your scientific field, as well as the features for monitoring progress and reporting internship activities which are now fully digital.

This outreach activity was not only informative but also interactive. Participants were given the opportunity to ask direct questions regarding the technical implementation, potential challenges encountered in the field, and collaborative strategies between faculties to ensure the success of the program. The discussion was lively, reflecting the enthusiasm and readiness of the entire Unhas academic community to welcome the 2025 Impact Internship.

This activity is expected to foster a strong understanding among all stakeholders within Unhas, enabling the program to be optimally implemented. Not only does it encourage students to develop professionally, but the Impactful Internship Program is also expected to be a catalyst in producing graduates who are adaptable, innovative, and ready to face global challenges.
