Monitoring and Evaluation of Student Study Completion
Makassar, June 24, 2025 — The Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of Hasanuddin University held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) today, focusing on Student Study Evaluation, in the FIB Senate Meeting Room. This activity is part of an ongoing effort to improve the quality of education and evaluate the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within the FIB.
The FGD was officially opened by the Dean of FIB, Prof. Dr. Andi Muhammad Akhmar, M.Hum , who in his remarks emphasized the importance of the active role of all units in monitoring and evaluating the progress of student studies, especially those who have not completed their studies on time.
"Through this forum, we hope to formulate concrete and sustainable solutions so that students can complete their studies according to the targeted time, while simultaneously encouraging the optimal achievement of the faculty's key performance indicators," said Prof. Andi Muhammad Akhmar.
This FGD featured a keynote speaker, Dr. Hendra, S.Si., M.Kom ., who presented material related to student Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) strategies, as well as a data-based approach to evaluating IKU achievements. In his presentation, Dr. Hendra emphasized the importance of synergy between faculty leaders, departments, and academic administrators to build an evaluation system that is effective and adaptive to change.
This activity was attended by a number of participants, including:
1. Vice Deans
2. Head of the Quality Assurance and Reputation Improvement Group (GPM-PR)
3. Heads of Departments/Study Programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels
4. Head of the Administration Section
5. Heads of Sub-Sections
6. Heads of Department/Study Program Secretariats at undergraduate levels
7. Postgraduate Managers
The discussion was lively, with participants providing various input regarding obstacles faced by students, the effectiveness of the academic development system, and the need for cross-unit academic data integration to support evidence-based policymaking. Through this FGD, the Faculty of Humanities hopes to strengthen internal coordination and formulate strategic steps to improve the quality of academic governance and overall institutional performance.
