HISTORY

The Regional Literature Study Programme is one of the study programmes offered by the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Hasanuddin University. This study programme was established in 1985. However, the Decree (SK) establishing the study programme was only issued by the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture in 1996 with Decree No. 234/DIKTI/KEP/1996. At that time, the study programme was named the Regional Literature Department for Bugis-Makassar Literature, which later became known as the Regional Literature Department. The Bugis-Makassar Literature Study Programme received a C accreditation rating from BAN-PT SK Number: 021/BAN-PT/Ak-XIV/S1/VII/2011, dated 18 August 2011, for a period of five years (2011–2014). In 2015, this study programme was re-accredited by BAN-PT and received a B rating as stated in Decree Number: 972/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/IX/2015, dated 3 September 2015, valid from the date of issuance until 2020. Furthermore, in the same year (2020), the Regional Literature Study Program was re-accredited by BAN-PT and obtained a score as stated in Decree Number: 5891/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPj/S/IX/2020, dated 22 September 2020, valid from 4 September 2020 to 4 September 2025. PSSD has also received FIBAA International Accreditation in 2024, dated 27 November 2024 to 26 November 2029.
