2026 Unhas Regional Literature Alumni Gathering: Strengthening Networks and
Contributions to the AlmaMater
Makassar – The Department of Regional Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Hasanuddin held its 2026 Alumni Gathering (Tracer Study) at the Grand Puri Hotel, Makassar, on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The event served as a platform to foster fellowship among alumni while strengthening ties between graduates and their alma mater in support of educational development and the enhancement of graduate quality.
The event was attended by the Vice Dean of FIB Unhas for Partnerships, Research, Innovation, and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Wahyudin, S.S., M.Hum.; the Head of the Sub-Directorate of Alumni Data and Networks at Universitas Hasanuddin, Hidayatullah Yunus, S.S., M.TESOL.; the Chairperson of the Regional Literature Alumni Association (IKA Sastra Daerah), Aswad Syam, S.S., M.Ak.; members of the IMSAD FIB Unhas executive board; as well as alumni from various graduating cohorts. The participation of alumni and key stakeholders demonstrated a shared commitment to building a more solid and sustainable network. Through this tracer study initiative, the Department of Regional Literature sought to gather data and information regarding the career trajectories of its alumni following graduation. In addition, the forum provided an opportunity for participants to share experiences, ideas, and recommendations that may serve as evaluative input for improving the quality of instruction and ensuring the curriculum remains relevant to the current demands of the professional world.
The event was characterized by a warm and collegial atmosphere. Discussions covered not only the professional journeys of alumni, but also potential collaborative opportunities that could be developed to support the department's continued growth. It is hoped that this event will reinforce the role of alumni as strategic partners of the university in producing graduates who are excellent, competitive, and capable of making meaningful contributions to society.
