Environmental Engineering Student Selected Among 102 Delegates for Duta Minerba Goes to Site 2025

Usra Zafarislam (Student ID: D131221051), an undergraduate student of the Environmental Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, has been selected as one of the 102 delegates for the prestigious Duta Minerba Goes to Site 2025 program, following a highly competitive nationwide selection process involving thousands of applicants from universities across Indonesia.

This achievement also highlights Hasanuddin University's outstanding performance, with six students successfully selected as delegates, including Usra Zafarislam representing the Undergraduate Environmental Engineering Study Program.

The Duta Minerba Goes to Site 2025 program is organized by the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal (Ditjen Minerba) under Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The initiative aims to develop future ambassadors for sustainable mining by equipping university students with knowledge of Good Mining Practice (GMP), community development, environmental stewardship, and effective public communication.

As part of the program, Usra will participate in online and offline training sessions before joining a field visit at PT Semen Indonesia Group (SIG). The visit will provide firsthand exposure to sustainable industrial and environmental management practices while strengthening participants' communication skills through digital storytelling. The entire program is fully funded, allowing participants to focus on learning throughout the program.

Expressing his gratitude, Usra shared his enthusiasm for being selected as one of the program participants.

"I am truly grateful to be selected as one of the participants of Duta Minerba Goes to Site 2025. This opportunity provides invaluable firsthand experience in learning about sustainable mining practices while expanding my knowledge and professional network with students from universities across Indonesia. I hope to apply the knowledge and experience gained from this program to further develop my competencies as a future environmental engineer and contribute to sustainable natural resource management," said Usra.

The Head of the Undergraduate Environmental Engineering Study Program also congratulated Usra on this achievement and expressed hope that the experience would inspire more students to actively participate in national development programs and continuously enhance their academic and professional competencies.
